Location and Climate
Marina Martinique is situated on the coastal plain between Jeffreys Bay and Aston Bay in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The city of Port Elizabeth is 70km to the east, where the nearest major airport is to be found. The N2 links Port Elizabeth to Jeffreys Bay before continuing to travel west to Knysna, 200km away.
Johannesburg is 1150km to the north. Cape Town is 700km to the west.
The Marina is also a mere 60 minute drive from the beginning of the world famous Garden Route, close to Plettenberg Bay.
Marina Martinique is to be found in a temperate climate zone with more warm sunny days than anywhere else in the world, making it the perfect destination for holidays or retirement. Rainfall is scattered throughout the year, but is rarely excessive. The climate is generaly warm and is seldom uncomfortably hot or humid.
Aesthetic guidelines for building were laid down from the very beginning, resulting in a development of elegantly styled homes based on Cape Caribbean architecture. Stand sizes vary between 600m² and 1025m². Homes have tended to range from 200m² to 500m².
Marina Martinique Home Owners’ Association
All property owners automatically become members of the Association which is a Section 21 company and is governed by the Company’s Act. The entire infrastructure (including the canals) belongs to the Association.
Security is a priority, with controlled 24-hour access and electrified perimeter fencing. The entire development is patrolled on a regular basis both day and night.
The towns of Humansdorp and Jeffreys Bay offer a full range of shopping, medical and other essential services. Specialist services can be found in Port Elizabeth.
The original proclamation was completed in 1995. The bulk services for Phase 2 commenced in December 2003.
